ABB e-mobility and shell revealed plans to launch the world's fastest integrated electric vehicle charger Terra 360. With the launch of more than 200 Terra 360 chargers in Germany in the next 12 months, abb e-mobility and shell will help ensure higher charger availability and charging speed for more than 1.7 million German electric vehicle drivers. Shell said it was happy to provide customers with the fastest charging service, first in Germany and soon in other markets. Shell recharge's nationwide Terra 360 charger network is powered by 100% renewable electricity, which will help meet the growing demand of German consumers and fleets for electric vehicle charging infrastructure and further accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Germany in the future.
Terra 360 has different configurations and can charge multiple vehicles at the same time. Its modular design ensures the peak utilization of the charging station through dynamic power distribution. The new charger has a maximum output power of 360 kW and can fully charge the electric vehicle in 15 minutes or less. Frank muehlon, CEO of ABB e-mobility, added: "as a global leader in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, we believe in the power of unity; when innovation and cooperation are combined, we can jointly contribute to mitigating the impact of climate change and realizing a low-carbon society."
"The transport sector alone accounts for about 29% of global greenhouse gases, so the importance of cooperation to promote change has never been so important. We are happy to work with shell to launch this landmark product." ABB e-mobility recently signed a global framework agreement with shell to service ABB's end-to-end AC and DC charging station portfolio. The product portfolio ranges from AC wall boxes for home, work or retail installations to Terra 360 for gas stations, urban charging stations, retail parking lots and fleet applications.
